JOB VACANCY

Safety Technology is currently seeking a Training Instructor for our new safety training facility in South Shields.  

The instructor will be required to teach RenewableUK and Global Wind Energy Basic Safety Training and may be required to assist with programmes in our other facilities.

The person selected will need to have experience with working at heights and teaching new and experienced technicians; a history in leisure or industrial climbing would be preferential.

A teaching qualification and experience with Wind Turbines and HSE, along with the ability to travel, would also be advantageous.

SAFETY TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCED AS FINALIST IN WALES GREEN ENERGY AWARDS

The list of finalists for the inaugural Wales Green Energy Awards were announced by RenewableUK yesterday, and Safety Technology has been shortlisted for the Contribution to Skills and Training award!

The new awards, organised by RenewableUK Cymru, celebrate the achievements of the green energy industry in Wales.  

A panel of independent judges comprising Lee Water, Director of the Institute of Welsh Affairs, Peter Davies, Wales’ Commissioner for Sustainable Futures and Chris Kelsey, Environmental Editor at Media Wales, will choose the winners of the seven categories to be announced in a ceremony on Wednesday 9 October in St David’s Hotel in Cardiff.

SAFETY TECHNOLOGY OPEN CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR RENEWABLE SAFETY IN NORTH EAST

We are pleased to announce the opening of our new Centre of Excellence for Renewable Safety Training in South Shields.  Our new facility is fully accredited by RenewableUK and the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) to offer the full suite of onshore and offshore safety training.

LYIT AND SAFETY TECHNOLOGY JOIN FORCES TO MAKE KILLYBEGS WIND ENERGY CENTRE

Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT) and Safety Technology announced last week the formation of an alliance which will enhance the employability of its wind technician graduates and make Killybegs a Centre of Excellence for Wind Energy Training.
